About Our Home Inspection Company
In 2005 after a lifetime of experience in the construction trades I made the decision to become a Home Inspector. Given the lack of requirements for becoming a Home Inspector in the tri state area I decided to become the best Home Inspector I could and associated myself with the American Society of Home Inspectors and adopted their Standards of Practice and their Ethics. The ASHI standards are accepted around the world and are very exacting. They can be found elsewhere on this site.
My lifetime of experience includes construction of homes, garages, grain handling systems, hog confinement facilities, electrical, plumbing, water well driller, pump installer, grain elevator manager and Hud Housing maintenance manager.
I grew up on a small farm in eastern Colorado in a day when a team and wagon was still used to pick up ears of corn that the corn picker missed. The highlight of my day was driving the team back to the barn. Dad had standards for us boys that were closely followed, We couldn't drive a tractor until we were nine and a truck was off limits until we were ten.
I served three years in the army where I was a Helicopter mechanic / crew chief with the 82nd Airborne Division. Yes I was a paratrooper, "one step you jump, two steps you run".
I married my wife Patty in 1972 and we raised 5 children. We lived on a small farm and operated a farrow to finish hog operation which was the 2nd largest in Yuma County at the time. I engineered and constructed with farm help all the building systems, grain systems etc. From there I worked in construction and on a large farm in Nebraska. Most recently I have worked as an independent contractor and built and remodeled homes in the Wray area.
When I inspect your home, I have had hands on experience. I inspect a home, others just look.
